Map of Lostness

Feeling A Little Lost Lately?

Me too. There's just too much going on, and sometimes I feel the whole world is becoming more and more lost by the day.

But it's comforting to know that other people feel the same way, and, indeed, someone is doing something about it.

I recently stumbled across the Map of Lostness, courtesy of the US International Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention.

You can use this site to find out 'Where can I go?' to be a missionary.

"Step 1: Determine... Where are the lost?"

According to the Map of Lostness, Australians are "88-95% Lost", which makes total sense to me.

But at least we are the fourth least lost.

Here's the Map itself.

Notice that the White areas are OK, but the Black areas, it seems, are almost totally Lost...

Map of Lostness

The map shows the percentage of lost in each region. The black-colored regions are areas of the world where there are few if any believers in Christ. The white regions show a high percentage of people who profess Christianity. The United States represents one of the few areas of the world where the majority of the population professes Christianity.

Pretty damn selective, isn't it. Hilarious. Thanks for that, Peter! Looks like all of Europe is incorrigibly black, doesn't it. All those failed Catholic nations...

Yes, I have done a bit of research on the Southern Baptists "Map of Lostness." The best I can remember, several years ago, based upon world population figures at that particular point in time I calculated that somewhere around 94% of the entire population of the world was lost according to the convention's "Map of Lostness" and was likely to spend an eternity in the fires of an everlasting Hell!

Now, I have also found that approximately 106.5 billion human beings have lived on Earth since the beginning of time. Given this set of facts most Christian fundamentalists would assume that approximately 100 billion (94% X 106.5 billion) human beings will rightly spend an eternity in the flames of a flesh burning Hell since they did not accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior!

So right now let's give fifteen hip, hip, hoorahs to the Christian fundamentalist community for what one might call good common sense...... rational, logical thinking! Also so they might be proud of how God has chosen to deal with his children: the 100 billion human beings (94% X 106.5 billion) always worried about what will happen to them after they die. Then to have their worst nightmare come true as they awake from death having to spend an eternity in the blazing furnace of an eternal Hell, folks who through absolutely no choice of their own were forced to become human beings by a ferrocious God who sent them to Earth!

Write to me if you have any comments.

The United States is also "the area" that produces, markets, and has accumulated approximately half of all the weapons in the world! We call ourselves Christians..... a Christian Nation, but the fact is we are a hypocritical, warring nation that has in the past 60 years destroyed as many as thirty democracies making sure that the proceeds goes to the rich and away from the poor, and shoring up dictatorships! And right now in our own country we are very quickly moving towards becoming a fascist nation! Think about it. If you want to help bring Jesus to others........ why not begin right here in America....... with the republican party..... the party of the rich..... those who would like to drown the poor in their own blood!
